CCPC August Membership Meeting

CCPC August Membership Meeting: What’s Next? Wednesday, August 23 from 6 to 7:30 pm @ Edgewater Park Upper Level Pavilion. The pavilion has plenty of wooden picnic tables but please bring a comfortable lawn chair if you’d prefer. We’ll have speakers covering the What’s Next question with short presentation’s about 1) The November election 2) Building a new Cuyahoga County Jail 3) Public sector financing of a Browns stadium renovation 4) One Fair Wage constitutional amendment 5) Participatory Budget Initiative in Cleveland 6) Upcoming Tri – C Levy and if still needed 7) UPS strike update. And let’s hope that August 23 isn’t another Canadian Wildfire Smoke day.

Donations Needed
 
On July 4 a fire destroyed the Terrace Towers Apartment Complex in East Cleveland, Fortunately all of the residents got out in time. Unfortunately all of their possessions did not. Donations are needed now to help the displaced people. Clothing ( especially socks and underwear ) and toiletries can be dropped off at the Forest Hill Church, 3031 Monticello Blvd. Cleveland Heights 44118.
 
The Cuyahoga County Democratic Party is looking for volunteers to staff their booth at the Cuyahoga County Fair. The fair runs from Tuesday, August 8 thru Sunday, August 13 at the Berea Fairgrounds. The ask is to cover at least one two hour shift and to pass out materials and encourage voter registration to people who stop by the booth. CCDP will pay for your ticket into the fair. The frackers are starting to circle our state parks and public lands, looking to loot and pollute. The process of proposing the fracking of selected state parks and nature preserves has begun.
